Here are some of our ideas of cool things you could do this weekend in Funkytown.

Friday

- Get a Dirty Love Burger on 7th - Love Shack on 7th Street is one of my favorite new hangouts. They have the most delicious mouth-watering burger and a great chicken sandwich for those of you who are health conscious.  But it’s not only the food that’s superb, it’s also the space.  I absolutely love the outdoor feel of Love Shack and the fact that they always have live music - the place feels like re-imagined “classic Fort Worth.”

P.S. The onion rings will blow your mind.

- Beatles Cover Band - I know you may all be tired of hearing about the Beatles.  Last week should have been called “Super Annoying Beatles Promotion Week”  (though the commercial below. was pretty darn cool)  BUT tonight, Me and My Monkey, a Beatles cover band named after a track from the White Album, will be performing a set at the Keys Lounge.  Show starts around 9:30.  Check out the venue website HERE

Saturday

- Man on the Moon - Buzz Aldrin, the second man to walk on the moon, is speaking at the CR Smith Museum, at 10:30 AM.  He’ll be reading from his book Look at the Stars and signing it afterwards.  This is your chance to see a living legend.  INFO HERE

- Grapefest - Monumental Historical Events may not be your thing… but hopefully wine is.  I like wine…. and I’m gonna go drink some Cabernets, eat some cheese, and have a fun time at the 23rd Annual Grapfest in Grapevine.  Details here.

- See the Informant - Don’t get me wrong, I love the Bourne series as much as the next guy BUT it’s great to see Matt Damon doing a comedy.  It’s even better to see that Steven Soderbergh directed it.  When he’s not doing film experiments like Bubble or artistic endeavors like CHe, the man knows how to entertain.

Sunday

- I don’t know if you noticed, but last weekend it rained… so we still think you should go see White Elephant at Hip Pocket on Sunday.  CLICK HERE to check out our post.
